People ask me quite a lot how I ended up doing this. Usually in the middle of a treatment, when we've got chatting and they find out I used to do something completely different.
So I thought I'd write it down properly. Pour yourself a cuppa.
The before
Before Novauria, I spent years in the corporate world. I worked in Marketing and production as a project manager and operations lead. It was busy, it paid the bills, and on paper it was fine.
But I'd always been the friend who was obsessed with skincare. The one people messaged with "what should I use for this?" The one who loved making people feel good about themselves.
And somewhere along the way, being "fine" stopped being enough.
Becoming a mum changed everything
Having my two changed how I saw time. Every hour I spent commuting or sitting in meetings I didn't care about was an hour I wasn't with them.
I wanted work that fitted around family life, not the other way round. And I wanted to build something that was mine.
That's a scary thing to admit out loud, let alone act on.
The leap
I'm not going to pretend it was a neat, confident decision. There was a lot of doubt. A lot of "who am I to do this?" and late-night spreadsheets.
What I did do was train properly. I took my time, learned from people I respected, and only added treatments to my menu once I was qualified and fully insured to do them. That's still how I work now. When I trained in chemical peels this year, they didn't go on the menu until training was done and I was confident.
Why a home studio
Novauria lives in a dedicated studio space at my home in Park Farm, Ashford, here in Kent.
Some people are surprised by that, so let me explain why I love it. It means I can be there for school pick-ups. It means my clients get a calm, private space without a busy reception. And it means every appointment feels personal, because it is. It's just you and me.
I put a lot of love into making the studio feel warm and welcoming. Candles on, blankets ready, music low. I want you to walk in and breathe out.
What nobody tells you
Running your own business is the best and hardest thing I've done.
Nobody tells you that you'll be the practitioner, the receptionist, the marketer, the accountant and the person who cleans the studio at 9pm. Nobody tells you that quiet weeks will mess with your head. Or that one lovely message from a client can turn your whole day around.
Nobody tells you how much you'll grow, either.
What Novauria stands for
Novauria is rooted in something deeply personal to me. It represents the people at the heart of my world and reminds me why I started this journey in the first place.
I believe every woman deserves to feel good about herself, feel confident in her own skin and never lose sight of who she is. Not just for herself, but to show the little eyes watching her that confidence comes from within, and that looking after yourself is never something to feel guilty about.
I'm not here to change anyone's face. I'm here to help women feel like the best version of themselves, with honest advice, subtle results and treatments that genuinely make sense for them. That includes telling someone when they don't need something, which I'll always do.
Because sometimes, feeling like you again is the most beautiful result of all.
What's next
This year has been a big one. I'm getting married again (in Mauritius, in two weeks to the same man!), the Bridal Edit has launched, and there's something new coming in January 2027 that I can't wait to share.
I'm so grateful to every single person who has trusted me with their skin.
If you've been thinking about booking but feel a bit nervous, come and say hello. You can book a consultation through the website, or DM me "GLOW" on Instagram for a chatty chat first. No pressure, I promise.
