Why I Don't Offer Filler

Why I Don't Offer Filler

Sunday feels like the right day for this one — a bit quieter, a bit more reflective, and it's a question I get asked often enough that it deserves a proper answer rather than a quick line in a DM.

It was never about following a trend

Filler is everywhere right now, and I understand why. But I've never wanted to offer a treatment just because it's popular. Everything on the Novauria menu is there because I believe in it and enjoy doing it — not because leaving it off would look strange.

I trained in it, and it just wasn't for me

I didn't skip filler training. I did it, worked with it, and came away knowing it wasn't the treatment I wanted to build a practice around. Some things click for you and some don't, and filler was firmly in the second category. That's a useful thing to know about yourself early rather than pretending otherwise.

The risk profile is real, and I'd rather not manage it

Filler carries risks that are genuinely more serious than most of what I do — migration, vascular occlusion, complications that need fast and confident management if something goes wrong. That's not a reason to say nobody should offer it. It's a reason for me, personally, to say I'd rather not be the one holding that risk when it's not where my skill or enthusiasm lies.

What actually excites me is skin

What I love — genuinely love — is skin quality. No two people's skin behaves the same way, even when the concern on paper looks identical. Two clients can come in with "dull, tired skin" and need completely different plans once I actually look closely. That variation is fascinating to me, and it's why boosters, microneedling, and skin quality work take up so much of my time and attention. I'd rather go deep on that than spread myself across a treatment I'm lukewarm on.

So what does that mean for you

If what you're after is volume or a specific shape change, I'll always be honest that filler isn't something I offer, and I'd rather point you towards someone who's genuinely passionate about it than do it half-heartedly myself. But if your concern is about how your skin looks and feels — texture, tone, hydration, that overall tired versus well-rested look — that's exactly where I want to spend my time with you.

Not offering something isn't a gap. Sometimes it's just knowing where you're actually useful.
