Where I've Been the Last Week
I don't love leaving the blog quiet for this long, so here's the honest version of what's been going on rather than pretending it's business as usual.
The birthday came first
My birthday was over the weekend, and I properly switched off for it - no laptop, no content calendar, just time with the people I love. I don't regret a minute of it, but it's the reason nothing's gone up in a little while.
Summer is just a genuinely hard season to run a business through
Beyond the birthday, if I'm honest, summer is tough. School holidays change everyone's routines, diaries go quieter than usual, and running a small business through that stretch takes a different kind of energy than the rest of the year. I don't think enough people talk about that part of self-employment - the bit where the sun's out and everyone assumes things are easy, and actually it's one of the harder stretches to keep momentum going.
Saying that out loud instead of pretending it's fine
I'd rather be honest about that here than post like nothing's going on. Running Novauria on my own means the quiet weeks land differently than they would in a bigger team - there's no one else to pick up the slack while I take a breath. So this is me taking a breath, being honest about it, and getting back to it.
Getting back into it
The treatment room is still very much open, the diary's still taking bookings, and I've got plenty I want to write about over the next few weeks - more skin talk, more honest verdicts, more of what's actually working for clients right now. Just wanted this one to be a straightforward "here's where I've been" before diving back in.
