I mentioned a little while back that I was trialling a new skincare brand before deciding whether it earned a permanent spot in the treatment room. I said I wasn't going to rush the call — and I didn't. The verdict is in: it's a yes.
Why I trial before I commit
New products cost money and shelf space, and I'm not willing to put my name behind something on the strength of a nice launch email. Before anything goes on the Novauria menu, I want real answers to three questions: do clients like it, would they come back for more, and would they actually buy it themselves. The only honest way to know that is to put it on real skin and watch what happens over time, not just on the day.
Two very different skin types, on purpose
I ran this trial on two clients deliberately chosen for how different their skin is — one with sensitive skin, one with mature, acne-prone skin. If a brand can perform well across both of those, that tells me far more than trialling it twice on similar skin ever could.
Both clients came back with genuinely good results. Calmer, more comfortable sensitive skin. Clearer, better-behaved texture on the mature acne-prone side. No irritation, no "it's fine I suppose" — proper, noticeable improvement that held up over the following days rather than fading the moment the trial ended.
So it's going on the menu
That's the bar I set, and this brand cleared it. It'll be joining the Novauria treatment room properly, and I'll be recommending it as part of skincare plans where it makes sense — alongside boosters, microneedling and facials, not instead of them.
I'll share more detail on exactly what it is and who it suits best once it's fully integrated into treatment plans. For now, just wanted to close the loop on something I've been genuinely excited about.
